Dr Gary Hung
General Practitioner
MBBS BSC - AHPRA: MED0001787108
“Passionate in helping patients understand, manage, and stay in control of their health.”
Born in Hong Kong and raised in Sydney, Gary completed a Bachelor in Health and Sports Science at UNSW before moving to Queensland to study medicine at Griffith University, graduating in 2012.
He trained extensively at Gold Coast University Hospital, where he gained broad and valuable experience across a range of surgical specialties. These years helped him build a strong technical foundation and an appreciation for precision in clinical care.
While surgery was the focus of his early career, Gary discovered that what he enjoyed most was engaging, supporting, and guiding patients through their health challenges. This passion led him to transition into general practice, where he completed specialist training and achieved Fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2025.
Now a dedicated GP, Gary is well versed in caring for the diverse spectrum of general presentations, with a particular focus on preventative health and chronic disease management.
He also maintains a strong procedural interest, with a special focus on skin cancer diagnosis and management and is furthering his expertise through ongoing training with the Skin Cancer College of Australia. He performs a range of minor surgical procedures in practice and continues to assist in theatre to maintain up to date technical skills for in-practice procedures.
Outside of medicine, Gary enjoys racquet sports and fishing (still chasing the elusive mangrove jack on his bucket list). He speaks fluent Cantonese and basic Mandarin, allowing him to connect with patients from diverse backgrounds.
Gary looks forward to building lasting relationships and being a trusted partner in his patients’ healthcare journey.
