Please note, while our practice is delighted to accept new patients, some of our doctors, including Dr Matthew Cardone, are currently focusing on their existing patient base, therefore not accepting new patient bookings. However, we are pleased to offer available appointments with Dr Matthew Cardone for established patients of the practice, ensuring timely access to the care you need. Dr Matthew Cardone was born and raised in Adelaide. Matthew’s love of surfing saw him relocate to the Gold Coast 20 years ago, where he now lives with his wife Samantha, 12 year old son and 10 year old twin girls.

Matthew has over 20 years of health care experience. He worked as physiotherapist on the Gold Coast, before attending Sydney University to study a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery in 2007. Dr Cardone competed his internship at The Gold Coast Hospital and spent a further years 2 at the Tweed Hospital in Emergency and Paediatric care before undertaking specialist GP training. He then worked rurally throughout Northern NSW before consulting from Tweed Health for Everyone in 2013.

Dr Cardone believes strongly in specialised GP training. In 2010, Matthew completed his Diploma of Child Health through Westmead Children’s Hospital, he is well known for his excellent rapport with children. Furthering his education, in 2017 Matthew completed an advanced clinical certificate in Skin Cancer Medicine with the Australasian Skin Cancer College. He now dedicates one day of practice per week to skin cancer detection and management here at Tweed Health.

Dr Cardone has a passion for travel medicine and believes in the importance of bringing health care to remote communities globally. He and his family have formed strong relationships with two disadvantaged communities in Fiji. Matthew has been visiting these villages regularly where he contributes his time in a voluntary medical capacity working specifically on improving basic hygiene, basic first aid and dental hygiene. His wife Samantha and his children are involved in the schools in these villages, distributing books, stationary, school uniforms and sport equipment.
